NC218Great!Alex is an automotive genius and encyclopedia. His car knowledge is incredible. Always great information and advice.
-
ChgoMikeGreat automotive infoStraightforward and helpful information about the automotive industry and car reviews. Love the podcast and the YouTube channel!
-
Kevin J AndersonBest Car Reviewers!Really love this team. Love the info, love the approach, and love the intro and outro songs. Find myself singing them throughout the day. I have appreciated the focus of affordability and practicality of the vehicles. This is embodied by the minivan worship of Alex. They really are the right car for everyone if only we can accept it.
-
aednicholsHigh information densityI love this podcast and associated YouTube channel because the host(s) do not fuss around and get straight to the details - covering information I don’t see anywhere else. Will I regret buying a CPO Polestar 2 living 200+ miles from a dealer? I do already road trip to that city a few times a year for work & pleasure. I think scheduled service should be acceptable, but if the car dies that is a long flatbed.

SquishyPotato1A Must-Watch for Car Nerds and Car BuyersI’ve been watching Alex on his YouTube channel (Auto Buyers Guide) for over a decade. Of my hundreds of subscriptions to car-related YouTube channels, they are #1 in my book. Whether you’re buying a car or are interested in cars in general, Alex and Travis are the duo you need to watch. They are both treasure troves of information, and the podcast is a great extension to the channel. Keep up the great work guys!

Inside scoopGreat car reviews and car industry insightsWhat makes this a great car review podcast is Alex and Travis’s extensive knowledge, level-headedness, and sincere enthusiasm for vehicles. No hype, no glossing over shortcomings, but also no sarcasm or harshness. They recognize the challenges and trade offs that manufacturers and consumers face depending on desired driving characteristics, performance, economy, etc. The only complaint is the theme song - embarrassingly cheesy. Get past that, and it’s an A+ car podcast for thinking car people.
-
Cencio1976Great automotive podcastAlex and Travis are the perfect duo—funny, knowledgeable, and always entertaining. They make even the most technical car topics easy to understand and enjoyable. Whether you’re a casual fan or a die-hard gearhead, this podcast is a must-listen. Highly recommended! My burn-with-fire new automotive tech trend: motorized fuel/charging doors. Totally useless feature nobody ever asked for, and will easily make people furious when they will inevitably stop working.
-
Commoner RavenNo-nonsense automotive newsI’ve been following the Auto Buyers Guide (whilom Alex on Autos) reviews since the main reviewer, Alex Dykes, was still writing up his thoughts on The Truth About Cars. No other free source covers the car industry in as much detail and with as much focus on industry trends as this podcast (and related YouTube channels) does. I have relied on the reviews from Alex and company for all of my car purchases. The other podcast host, Travis, is a new reviewer to the YouTube channels. He’s a great addition, and he seems to bring some of his own experience from the car industry (Tesla sales, maybe?). His perspective is a welcome counterbalance to Alex’s perspective. You may wince at the cheesy intro theme song, but if you care about cars then I guarantee you’ll love the rest of the show.
-
Geft99Great PodcastI find all of Alex’s content thorough and informative. My only complaint/question is why software defined vehicles is the hill you are going to die on? While it isn’t a great name, hardware defined vehicles is a gross oversimplification as well. From all of my reading and what I know as a software engineer, it seems like you are in the minority on this topic.

diab olinoBest information about cars in the current car marketThis podcast offers real information from people who understand what they’re talking about. No pushing of products or influencing opinions to make money. Always on point, informative, and entertaining. Not a grumpy old man show like TFL.
-
heyyimattThe BEST Automotive Podcast.Alex, Nick, and Travis are second to none. Their content is the most direct, informative, and entertaining in the automotive space. They’re very knowledgeable when it comes to vehicles and make it easy for anyone to understand. I’ve listened to some episodes multiple times just because the energy between the guys is so positive. I wish the podcasts were longer but easy to supplement them with their awesome YouTube videos @ Auto Buyers Guide! Keep up the great work!
-
MouthofmadnessFun and InformativeAlex became a trusted source on YouTube for an extended time. This adds Travis as a permanent addition and it is a very good listen. Informative, genuine, current, relatable and fun.
